Sky Sports News football reporter Dharmesh Sheth confirms Premier League giants Arsenal are long-term admirer of Thomas Lemar.
The Gunners have a long-standing interest in signing Monaco attacker Thomas Lemar, according to football reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The North London giants are facing a battle to keep their top talents like German star Mesut Ozil and Chilean Alexis Sanchez in the winter transfer window.
Both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have been strongly linked with a potential move to rivals Manchester United this New Year considering their present contract situations.
The Chile international forward has also been tipped with a transfer to League leaders Manchester City following his failed move in the summer.
The Gunners attempted to sign Thomas Lemar in a £92million deal last summer transfer window but the forward rejected a transfer to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.
The North London club will have a huge void to fill, should either Alexis Sanchez of Mesut Ozil leave the club, opening up the possibility of the gunners relaunching their bid for Thomas Lemar.
Sky Sports News football reporter Dharmesh Sheth confirmed that the gunners do have a long-standing transfer interest in the AS Monaco attacker but ruled out Thomas Lemar leaving his present employers this January.
“They [Arsenal] have had a long standing-interest in [Thomas] Lemar,” [Dharmesh ] Sheth told the Transfer Talkpodcast. “[But] AS Monaco won’t be selling him [Lemar] in January.
“The likelihood is he [Thomas Lemar] will be leaving [Monaco] in the summer.”
The forward netted 11 goals and created 12 assists in 48 matches across all competitions last season as AS Monaco lifted the French Ligue 1 title and reached the UEFA Champions League semi final.
