Chelsea haven’t got an impressive goalscoring number this season, but reports claim that could be about to take a twist this summer with prolific forward Robert Lewandowski tipped to sign for the Blues.
The reigning Premier League champions have recorded just 50 goals to their name in 29 Premier League games, giving them the worst figure of the top six teams in the league as the likes of Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard haven’t been able to score constantly as wanted.
While January acquisition Olivier Giroud gives them option upfront, it doesn’t look to have entirely solve the goalscoring, and so The Sun claim that Chelsea top the list of interested teams keen to land Bayern Munich forward Lewandowski.
La Liga giants Real Madrid and Premier League heavyweights Manchester United are also thought to be interested in the Poland forward, but it’s the Blues who are handed the best chance of signing him this summer window, as per reports.
And what a signing it would be, Lewandowski, 29, has found the net on 320 occasions althrough his playing career in 513 games during stints with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, German club Borussia Dortmund and Lech Poznan.
Also, the striker scored 51 times in 91 caps for Poland, and he has improved even with age given the fact that he’s netted more that 40 goals in the past two seasons with Bayern.
In turn, if Chelsea can prise him away from the Bundesliga champions, it would make the side a serious threat to their Premier League rivals, with a striker that has the quality to adapt quickly in England, looking at his physicality, athleticism, and good eye for goal.
